Ben Shillington has worked as a full time professional guide and instructor for the past 15 years, and has worked for some of the biggest Adventure guiding companies in the world. His guiding and adventuring career has taken him all over the globe guiding and filming expeditions on several peaks in the Himalayas and Africa through the Middle East and Asia and to the Magnetic North Pole in Canada’s high Arctic. Ben is the co founder and board member for the Beachburg off-road Cycling Association and the new Stonewashed Ultra Gravel Grinder series.

Ben has a strong passion for cold environments and is a published Author of “Winter-Backpacking” available in two languages. He has also finished the Arrowhead 135 winter ultra marathon by ski on the coldest year on record, trekked down the northern basin of Lake Winnipeg in the middle of the winter and is now working on some future fat biking projects taking him to some of the coldest places on the planet.

When Ben is not guiding trips and expeditions he transfers his knowledge and skills from the field to his students instructing as a full time Lead instructor for the Outdoor Adventure Guide Diploma Program at Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley and Wilderness Tours.
